Experiences

A melting pot of Asian cultures – Malay, Chinese and Indian – plus a period of British colonial rule, gives Malaysia a rich palette to draw upon, enhancing its appeal to visitors. Kuala Lumpur is a vibrant cultural mix, with the distinct areas of Chinatown and Little India, and impressive modern structures such as the renowned Petronas Twin Towers vying with Moorish inspired architecture. ‘KL’ and Penang come alive with a regular calendar of lively festivals that celebrate the nation’s diversity. Established as a colonial hill station in the 1930s, the Cameron Highlands area remains a popular escape from the city heat and is known for its tea plantations, orchards, waterfalls, and strawberry farms. Nowhere epitomises Malaysia’s cultural riches more than George Town, Penang; a maze of chaotic, narrow streets chock-a-block with temples, mosques, colourful shrines and rows of picturesque shophouses alongside modern cafés and lounges. There’s no better way to explore the bustling street life of George Town or Malacca than by traditional three wheel trishaw. Let your driver take the strain!
