Introduction

Small in stature but huge in heart, Lebanon makes waves beyond its size with its melting pot of cultures epitomising East meets West, internationally popular cuisine, an attractive combination of beach and mountains, and fascinating ancient sites. The positive energy of its people is encapsulated in the fast-paced and friendly capital city of Beirut.

When to visit

Lebanon enjoys a four-season Mediterranean climate, with spring and autumn being the ideal times to visit. From June to September, the summer brings humidity to the coastal areas but the mountains remain pleasant. From December to mid-March, some winter rain can be expected on the coast, and snow covers the mountain peaks, heralding the start of the ski season.

Experiences

Head north from Beirut on a Byblos and Jeita Grotto day trip to experience the spectacular caverns of Jeita, where extraordinary stalactites and stalagmites dominate two limestone crystallised grottoes, and the medieval port and antiquities of Byblos, one of the oldest continuously inhabited towns in the world. In the Cedars of Lebanon Excursion, you will travel to the mountainous region of Bcharreh, the birth place of writer and poet Gibran Khalil Gibran, and explore ancient cedar trees in the nearby forest of the Cedars of God. Descend into the Qadisha Valley for a visit to the working Monastery of St. Anthony of Khozaya, carved in the rock face, before returning to Beirut.

Areas of Lebanon

Lebanon brims with cosmopolitan energy and historic charm. Discover Beirut’s captivating blend of chic nightlife, vibrant arts, and Mediterranean flair. Explore ancient ruins in Baalbek, lose yourself in the medieval souks of Tripoli, or unwind on the golden beaches of the coast. Lebanon’s dining scene is legendary, with world-class mezze, stylish cafés, and fresh seafood. Complete your stay with day trips to ski resorts or Roman temples—Lebanon’s diversity never ceases to delight.
