When to visit

Cambodia is a tropical country with warm weather throughout the year. The cooler months from November to February attract most of the visitors. The warmer months from May to September are usually marked by a brief downpour in the afternoon.

Experiences

Touring this fascinating country is a delight, with the welcoming and gentle nature of the Khmer people; one of the major attractions to a land that has largely been protected from the extremes of modernisation. However, its major cities are not without their sophistication, with riverside capital Phnom Penh’s growing reputation for cultural activities and top class dining, and cosmopolitan Siem Reap's lively nightlife providing an irresistible draw, along with its temples. Phnom Penh’s Royal Palace and its Silver Pagoda are a must-visit. Siem Reap is a gateway to not only the Angkor Wat complex, but also Angkor Thom, best known for its 12th century Bayon temple. Close by is the picturesque and atmospheric Ta Prohm, otherwise known as the ‘Tomb Raider’ temple, where giant tree roots have famously reclaimed the temple walls.

Areas of Cambodia

Cambodia is a destination where ancient wonders and warm hospitality abound. The awe-inspiring temples of Angkor Wat near Siem Reap invite exploration at sunrise, while the capital, Phnom Penh, reveals a blend of French colonial charm and Khmer tradition. Relax on the tranquil beaches of Sihanoukville, or immerse yourself in the rich culture and lively markets of rural provinces. With its unique blend of history, culture, and natural beauty, Cambodia offers travellers a truly memorable Far Eastern adventure.
