When to visit

The south experiences milder winters and higher summer temperatures, while northern winters are colder and the summers more humid. The central areas enjoy a more balanced climate without such extremes.
Experiences
Italy offers a rich tapestry of experiences shaped by its history, culture, and natural beauty. Wander through ancient ruins in Rome, marvel at Renaissance art in Florence, and soak up the romantic canals of Venice. The country is a paradise for food lovers, from sampling authentic Neapolitan pizza and fresh pasta to sipping fine wines in Tuscany’s rolling vineyards. Coastal regions like the Amalfi Coast and Cinque Terre boast breathtaking seascapes and charming villages, while the Italian Alps provide world-class skiing and hiking opportunities. Festivals, fashion, and warm Italian hospitality add to the vibrant atmosphere, making every visit truly unforgettable. Whether you seek culture, cuisine, or countryside, Italy’s diverse regions offer something to delight every traveller.

Areas of Italy
Milan: Considered both the financial and fashion capital of Italy, Milan is the most modern of all Italian cities. But away from the hustle and bustle Milan still holds some of Italy’s most famous historic attractions including ancient churches, medieval castles, Renaissance palaces, remarkable architecture and divine culinary delights.
Northern Lakes and Mountains: Italy’s lush and diversified environment provides many ideal settings for vacations in close contact with nature, for a natural rush of energy while experiencing lakes and mountains. The breathtaking lake regions of Maggiore, Como and Garda are a short drive away from fashionable Milan. Cortina d’Ampezzo – the charming Italian portion of the Alps could be accessed from Venice.
Venice: Venice is a truly unique city. Built on the calm waters of the Aegean Sea some 1,500 years ago, the city actually consists of 117 islands linked by some 400 bridges and numerous canals that weave their way past beautiful shop houses, villas and churches.
Tuscany, Florence and Bologna: Tuscany with its spectacular rolling hills, patchwork olive groves, gastronomic delights and famed grape orchards, is one of Italy’s top vacation destinations. Visitors are attracted by its historic cities and castles, medieval hill towns and beautiful countryside.
Italian Riviera and the Sorrentine Peninsula: Steal a slice of la dolce vita in the splendid sea side resort towns. Charming Ligurian sea side town Portofino, located in the Italian Riviera, is a two-hour drive or train journey from Milan. Sorrentine Peninsula, a year-round destination is just over two hour’s drive from Rome.
Rome: Built on seven hills and known as the eternal city, Rome was the cultural centre of the ancient world. The City of La Dolce Vita contains countless masterpieces from the Imperial Golden Era such as the Roman Forum and Colosseum and the Circus Maximus while not forgetting more ‘recent’ masterpieces such as the Trevi Fountain and Michelangelo’s ornate and instantly recognisable ceiling in the Sistine Chapel.
