Continue to Foz do Iguaçu to experience the breathtaking power of the falls from both the Brazilian and Argentine sides, including the dramatic Devil’s Throat and the surrounding national parks.
Journey deep into the Amazon region, where Manaus serves as the gateway to one of the world’s most remarkable natural environments. Cruise along the Rio Negro, witness the famous Meeting of the Waters, visit local communities, explore the rainforest by canoe, and discover the wildlife and traditions that make the Amazon truly unique.

DAY 1/2: MALTA – SÃO PAULO
Meet your tour manager at Malta International Airport in preparation for your flight to Brazil.
Upon arrival at Guarulhos International Airport, you will be welcomed and privately transferred to your hotel in central São Paulo. Early check-in is arranged at the 4* Blue Tree Premium Paulista to allow you to settle in comfortably before beginning your exploration.
Known affectionately as “Sampa”, São Paulo is South America’s largest city; a dynamic, cosmopolitan hub where modernity meets cultural diversity. Beyond its towering skyscrapers, busy avenues, and thriving business districts, the city boasts a vibrant cultural scene filled with theatres, art-house cinemas, gourmet restaurants, and lively nightlife.
Your half-day city tour begins in the historic downtown area, where you may visit the impressive Sé Cathedral, one of the largest Neo-Gothic cathedrals in the world.
You will then continue to Trianon Park, a green urban oasis nestled along Paulista Avenue, the heart of the city’s financial district. Opposite the park stands the iconic São Paulo Museum of Art (MASP), a striking example of modernist architecture.
The tour proceeds through the elegant Jardins district, known for its upscale boutiques, cafés, and restaurants, before concluding at the entrance to Ibirapuera Park, a masterpiece designed by architect Oscar Niemeyer and landscape designer Roberto Burle Marx. Here, you will see the impressive Monumento às Bandeiras, a granite sculpture honouring Brazil’s early explorers.

DAY 3: SAO PAULO - FOZ DO IGUAÇU
After breakfast, check out and transfer to Guarulhos International Airport for your onward flight.
Upon arrival at Iguaçu Airport, you will be welcomed and transferred to your hotel on the Brazilian side. Foz do Iguaçu is a vibrant yet compact city located at the confluence of the Iguaçu and Paraná Rivers.
Positioned near the borders of Brazil, Argentina, and Paraguay, it serves as the gateway to the spectacular Iguaçu Falls, while also offering access to duty-free shopping in Paraguay and the impressive Itaipu Hydroelectric Dam, one of the largest in the world.
Overnight at the 4* Viale Cataratas Hotel & Eventos or similar.
DAY 4: FOZ DO IGUAÇU
After breakfast, travel to Iguaçu National Park on the Brazilian side, where a scenic 1.5km walkway leads to a breathtaking panoramic view of the iconic Devil’s Throat. From this vantage point, you can admire sweeping views of the Argentine side, including highlights such as the Two Sisters and Bozzetti waterfalls, the Upper Circuit, and San Martín Island, famously featured in the film The Mission.
Continue across the border into Argentina, where, from the Visitor Centre, you will board a train to the Upper Circuit, offering magnificent views over the falls. The journey culminates at the awe-inspiring Devil’s Throat, the park’s most dramatic waterfall. Measuring approximately 150 metres in length and 80 metres in height, its powerful horseshoe-shaped cascade creates an unforgettable spectacle.
From here, proceed on foot along the Iguazú River canyon for approximately 3km to reach the Lower Circuit (1.5km), where you may observe the region’s rich flora and fauna while experiencing the constant mist and energy of the surrounding waterfalls.
DAY 5: FOZ DO IGUAÇU - MANAUS
After breakfast, check out and transfer to Iguaçu Airport for your onward flight. Upon arrival at Manaus Airport, you will be welcomed and privately transferred to your hotel.
Manaus, the vibrant capital of the Amazon region, is uniquely positioned in the heart of the rainforest along the Rio Negro, a major tributary of the Amazon River. Serving as a gateway to the Amazon, the city offers extraordinary opportunities to connect with nature, from swimming with pink river dolphins and discovering Indigenous cultures to witnessing the remarkable “Meeting of the Waters”, where two rivers flow side by side without merging.

DAY 6: MANAUS
After breakfast, begin your journey to the Amazon Ecopark Lodge.
Upon arrival, check in and set out on an afternoon excursion to visit a traditional caboclo home. Travelling by motorised canoe, you will gain insight into the lifestyle of local communities, learning about their customs, traditions, the history of the rubber boom, and the preparation of a typical cassava-based meal.
Return to the lodge in time for dinner, followed by an evening boat excursion deep into the Amazon. As you glide through the waterways, immerse yourself in the sounds of the jungle and keep watch for caimans and other nocturnal wildlife.
Your guide will attempt to safely capture a small caiman, offering you a rare opportunity to observe it up close while learning about its habitat, behaviour, and survival techniques. Following this fascinating encounter, the animal will be released back into its natural environment, and you will return to the lodge.

DAY 7: MANAUS
Enjoy breakfast at the lodge before setting out on a full-day excursion.
Board a double-deck boat and cruise along the Rio Negro, passing the shores of Manaus while taking in notable landmarks such as the Amazonas Theatre, the bustling port, and traditional stilt houses lining the riverbanks.
Late in the morning, arrive at the remarkable “Meeting of the Waters”, where the dark waters of the Rio Negro and the sandy-coloured Solimões River flow side by side for approximately 12km without mixing. This natural phenomenon is caused by differences in temperature, density, and current speed between the two rivers.
The dramatic convergence of these waters forms the mighty Amazon River, which continues its journey across the continent to the Atlantic Ocean.
DAY 8: MANAUS
After breakfast, visit the Monkey Forest Project, established in 1991 and dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and care of wildlife affected by illegal trade.
Managed by a team of veterinarians and biologists, the project provides a safe haven for rescued animals while supporting their gradual reintroduction into their natural habitat. Feeding takes place twice daily, offering a unique opportunity to observe the animals up close while learning about the centre’s conservation efforts—an ideal setting for photography and filming in a natural and protected environment.
Following lunch at the lodge, continue your Amazon experience with a canoe excursion for a guided fishing activity. Accompanied by your expert guide, you will learn traditional techniques for catching piranhas and other seasonal fish found in the region.
DAY 9: MANAUS - RIO DE JANEIRO
Enjoy your final breakfast at the lodge before checking out and beginning your return transfer to the airport for your flight to Rio de Janeiro.
Continue your journey to Rio de Janeiro, the legendary “Marvelous City”, where golden beaches meet lush mountains along the Atlantic coast. Immerse yourself in the vibrant lifestyle of the cariocas, enjoying the rhythms of samba and bossa nova, sampling a refreshing caipirinha, and discovering the city’s diverse architecture and iconic landmarks such as Christ the Redeemer and Sugarloaf Mountain.
Upon arrival in Rio de Janeiro, you will be welcomed at the airport and transferred to your hotel in the Barra da Tijuca district.

DAY 10: RIO DE JANEIRO
After breakfast, drive through the iconic Copacabana neighbourhood en route to Urca Station, where you will board a two-stage cable car journey to the summit of the famous Sugarloaf Mountain.
Ascend first to Morro da Urca before continuing to the peak of Sugarloaf, a series of striking granite formations overlooking the city. From the Swiss-designed, bubble-shaped cable cars, enjoy spectacular 360-degree views of Rio de Janeiro, including its lush mountains, sweeping coastline, Guanabara Bay, and glimpses of the Atlantic Ocean.
After taking in these breathtaking panoramas, return to your hotel.
DAY 11: RIO DE JANEIRO
After breakfast, travel to the charming Cosme Velho district, where you will board a scenic cogwheel train that winds its way through the lush Tijuca Forest to the summit of Corcovado Mountain.
Along the journey, take in the rich rainforest scenery and stunning views over the city.
At the top, marvel at the iconic Christ the Redeemer statue, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, and enjoy breathtaking panoramic views across Rio de Janeiro and its spectacular surroundings.
Descend the mountain and continue your tour along Rio’s famous coastline, including the golden beaches of Copacabana, Ipanema, and Leblon, before returning to your hotel.
DAY 12: RIO DE JANEIRO
After breakfast, enjoy a day at leisure to explore the vibrant city of Rio de Janeiro at your own pace, whether relaxing on its iconic beaches, discovering its rich cultural heritage, or immersing yourself in its lively atmosphere.
DAY 13: RIO DE JANEIRO
After breakfast, prepare for your return transfer from the hotel to the iconic Sambadrome, where Rio’s world-famous Carnival parade unfolds.
This purpose-built venue, designed by renowned architect Oscar Niemeyer, hosts an extraordinary spectacle in which the city’s leading samba schools showcase a year’s worth of creativity, passion, and dedication.
Each school presents a unique theme through vibrant parades featuring hundreds of performers dressed in elaborate, handcrafted costumes adorned with feathers, sequins, metallic fabrics, and intricate detailing. Towering floats bring these themes to life, often drawing inspiration from Brazil’s history, culture, or notable personalities.
Accompanied by powerful samba rhythms and storytelling lyrics, each performance is judged across multiple categories, making the event a thrilling and prestigious competition. The top five schools return for the celebrated Winners’ Parade.
Transfers are arranged by van, minibus, or coach, with drop-off points at designated sectors depending on ticket type, while Grandstand Sector 9 offers the comfort of numbered seating.
Please note that most bleacher seating consists of large concrete steps without assigned seats. All sectors are equipped with snack bars, refreshment facilities, and restrooms.
Following this unforgettable experience, return to your hotel.
DAY 14: RIO DE JANEIRO
After breakfast, take the opportunity to explore Rio de Janeiro one last time, soaking up its vibrant atmosphere, iconic beaches, and breathtaking scenery before departing.
Later, leave your hotel in Barra da Tijuca and enjoy a comfortable transfer to Rio de Janeiro Airport for your onward flight home.
DAY 15: RIO DE JANEIRO
Arrive back in Malta with unforgettable memories of Brazil, its vibrant culture, breathtaking landscapes, and extraordinary experiences leaving a lasting impression long after your journey ends.
