Housekeeper (Retail Shops and Offices)
A Housekeeper for retail shops and offices is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, orderliness, and hygiene within commercial spaces, such as retail stores and office environments. This role involves routine cleaning, organising, and ensuring that the premises are presentable to customers, clients, and staff. The Housekeeper plays a key role in creating a welcoming and professional atmosphere, contributing to a positive experience for both customers and employees.

- Qualifications and Skills:
* Proven experience in cleaning or janitorial roles, preferably in a commercial setting (retail or office).
* Knowledge of cleaning methods, chemicals, and equipment used in a professional environment.
* Strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently.
* Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
* Good organisational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks.
* Physical stamina to perform cleaning duties, including bending, lifting, and standing for extended
periods.
* A professional appearance and demeanour, as the role may require interaction with customers or
employees.
The key responsibilities of this post include:
- Key Responsibilities:
- General Cleaning: Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust all areas of the retail or office space, including floors, furniture, windows, and surfaces.
- Restroom Maintenance: Ensure that restrooms are thoroughly cleaned and stocked with necessary supplies (e.g., toilet paper, soap, paper towels).
- Trash Disposal: Empty trash bins, recycling bins, and dispose of waste properly, ensuring that areas remain tidy and odor-free.
- Stock and Supply Management: Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies as needed and maintain cleanliness in storage areas.
- Maintenance Reporting: Report any damage, maintenance needs, or potential safety hazards to management for immediate attention.
- Customer and Employee Areas: Ensure that customer-facing areas, such as product displays in retail stores or common office areas (e.g., break rooms, meeting rooms), are clean and presentable at all times.
- Specialized Cleaning: Perform occasional deep cleaning tasks (e.g., carpets, windows) and may assist with seasonal cleaning requirements.
- Support for Events or Promotions: Assist in setting up and maintaining the cleanliness of event spaces, promotional areas, or temporary displays in retail shops or offices.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols, including safe handling of cleaning materials, equipment, and maintaining clean, slip-free floors.
